In other news, which coach can be held accountable for this terrible Sugar Bowl tonight?! Brian Kelly is dreaming about leprechauns, Jeff Quinn already has another job so this loss means nothing…and Butch Jones was smart enought to NOT coach his first game at UC against Florida. I blame the NCAA and their recruiting regulations.

So we took your football coach…again. I’m sorry. You should be used to it by now, since we took Brian Kelly from you in 2006. Anyways, in case you haven’t been following the news, we lost our head coach and needed a new one urgently. UC is 12-0 this season and will be playing in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day. You guys are 11-2 and are playing the GMAC Bowl. We’re in the Big East, you’re in the MAC. No disrespect to you guys, but UC is a higher caliber program, and we needed a coach. Those things aside, we do have something in common: at this point we’re both just stepping stone schools for the next level. I feel your pain.

I am sorry that we hired your coach before your bowl game, but if you think I feel bad for you, I don’t. Like you, this is also the second time that a coach has left our school since 2006. I don’t know about you, but both times our coaches lied and claimed they “loved it in Cincinnati” and “aren’t leaving.” Both times those claims proved to be false, and the coach left for what he thought was a better offer. Mark Dantonio was 6-6 this year at Michigan State, finishing a terrible 6th in the Big Ten. Brian Kelly is taking over a Notre Dame program that hasn’t seen a National Championship or Heisman Trophy winner since the mid 80’s. They too were 6-6 this season. Good luck BK. You had a great run here, but tarnished your character on exit.

So anyways, I’m sorry that we took your coach…but it’s just the way the system works. It sucks, but I don’t see it changing anytime soon. Like I said, we now have lost two great coaches to supposedly better programs with deeper pockets and better facilities. All we can do is move forward with the new guy…I suggest you do the same. Please don’t hate Cincinnati.

Driving home from work at 5:30pm on Wednesday was much better.

• You know which stores will double coupons and up to what dollar value
• You’ve saved over 50% off your grocery bill by using coupons
• You wait until an item is on sale AND you have a coupon before you buy it
• People give you coupons they won’t use
• You buy a Sunday paper solely for the coupons
• You’ve been paid to buy an item with a coupon
• You don’t pay for a newspaper delivery service because it’s cheaper to buy the paper at the store/gas station/etc.
• You’ve climbed into a freezer at a Giant Eagle to rip $1.00 off coupons from pizza boxes for pizzas you’re about to buy
• You make trips to multiple stores depending on which items are on sale at each establishment

A friend of a guy I work with entered a contest to try and win $100k. My last blog post was trying to get you to watch the entry video and vote on it. Much thanks to all you voters out there, Joel is now a semi-finalist in the competition.

I should note, real quick, that I have never met this guy in my life. Ever. But it’s all good. Yan says he’s cool.

If you take a minute to read his webpage or his blog, you’ll find out that he has deemed himself a professional contest winner. Crazy, right? He’s won tons of cool stuff already, and now he’s trying to win a Klondike competition for $100k. In his last competition as part of his winnings they gave him an iPod Touch. Since he already has an iPod Touch, he decided that he would give it away in contest fashion, hoping to get more people to vote for his Klondike video.

The rules are simple. All I have to do is get as many people as possible to join his Facebook group and sign the wall. That’s it. There’s absolutely nothing in this for you, only for me. It’s crazy for me to ask my loyal readers to do this…but heck, I’d do the same thing for you! All you need to do is write two sentences on the wall. The first saying anything about Joel, the second saying “1 point for Jonathan Lepolt.” Whoever gets the most points gets the iPod.

Yan has been asking pestering everyone that he knows to visit the website, register, and vote for his friend’s video. After sending countless IMs to me in addition to some threatening phone calls, I finally gave in and decided to check it out. The video is actually pretty clever, and the song is kinda catchy.
